Duffy
With the Daptones as the blueprint and Amy as the breakout, it looks like we're in the midst of another classic r&b revival. (Older readers will remember the ubiquity of '60s Motown and the like throughout the '80s.)
Duffy is another retro-hairdoed siren from across the pond currently mining this perennial sonic landscape. On her debut, Rockferry, she gets in touch with her inner Dusty Springfield with a little help from her friend, the veteran Brit Pop guitarist/producer Bernard Butler. The US release date is May 13th.
